REPurpose Contributes to the CheMatSustain Stakeholder Event on Safe and Sustainable Advanced Materials
On 17 June 2026, the REPurpose project participated in the CheMatSustain Stakeholder Event, entitled “Advanced Materials: How to Go from Data to Design through the Scope of SSbD?”, contributing to discussions on the role of Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approaches in the development of advanced materials.
The event brought together research and industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge and perspectives on how data, assessment tools and industry experience can support the integration of safety and sustainability considerations into material design.
Two REPurpose partners actively contributed to the programme:
- AIMPLAS – Technological Institute of Plastics shared insights into the use of databases to support SSbD approaches, highlighting the importance of reliable data for assessing material safety and sustainability.
- AVEP – Asociación Valenciana de Empresas del Plástico participated in the Industry Roundtable, bringing an industrial perspective to discussions on the practical implementation of SSbD principles.
The event provided an opportunity for REPurpose partners to share knowledge and experience gained throughout the project and exchange perspectives with other European initiatives working towards safer and more sustainable materials.
REPurpose's participation highlighted the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in advancing the application of SSbD principles and supporting the development of circular and sustainable material solutions.
A special thank you to the CheMatSustain project for the invitation and for organising this valuable opportunity for discussion and collaboration.
